The Abbey ruins and the Blade are both iconic buildings from different periods of Reading's history. Every time I see them I always enjoy the contrast and muse on time passing. Late at night it's easy to imagine people from different eras passing through. Even the Forbury Lion might well stroll past when he knows people are busy texting or praying and won't notice him!
