I love to work with watercolour and ink to express emotion or experience. My work tends to be non-figurative, exploring the possibilities of different marks, materials and tools. Recently I have been thinking about connections to others and communication. My career began in a water testing laboratory after gaining a Biology degree in 1990. I later studied Graphic Design (gaining ISTD membership) and pursued my artistic curiosity on a variety of short courses, including those at SLADE School of Fine Art, Central St Martins, Newlyn School of Art and St Ives School of Painting. I won the RGA's Marie Dyson Award in 2009 and had work accepted into the RWS Contemporary Watercolour Exhibition at the Bankside Gallery in London in 2018.
