Painting is a war of attrition for me. My usual style is to push, cajole, persuade, threaten and finally bully paint to do what I want it to do. I normally lose, with the paint doing its own thing. It seems to work.

I appear to have specialised in British birds (a much neglected genre I feel) and am fortunate to have nearby nature reserves and well provisioned garden to provide suitable photo opportunities. My evolution series focuses on effects of humans’ impact on our fragile environment. I’ve been lucky enough to bag a couple of awards:

Aquadango – Finalist David Shepherd Wildlife Artist of the Year, 2020

Chilled – Highly commended, The Wildlife Artist International exhibition, 2016
