‘Influences can come from anywhere so travel is a must and momentum is king. Be it a tile in Morocco or Pompeii, an exhibition in Barcelona or Florence I always either sketch or record images on my phone camera and save them for when I’m back in the studio’. I work with oils simply because of their texture and drying time as I am often on the move and like to let them breath before returning to a painting. Since versatility is key for a designer in the TV/Film industry I apply these traits to my painting. With my abstract work I am exploring retro complementary colour themes, there relationships and composition with each other and also with the audience as I interpret our relationship with artificial intelligence.

Damian’s work has been exhibited in several exhibitions throughout Ireland including a solo show in the Signal Arts Centre in Bray, Co Wicklow.
