University of Reading Community Festival

Artists from the Reading Guild of Artists were joined by the Urban Sketchers for the Summer Painting Day at the University of Reading’s first Community Festival held on the beautiful grounds of the Whiteknights campus. There was a painting ‘throw-down’ at the end of the afternoon which was judged by a very special VIP, the University’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Robert Van De Noort, and his wife. Congratulations to Liz Chaderton whose painting of the Library building appealed the most to Robert, and to Kusum as runner-up for depicting the festival. Thank you to all who came along and took part, to Kerry, Mollie, and all at the University for organising such a wonderful day. We thoroughly enjoyed it.
