I draw with graphite and occasionally charcoal. I love the way graphite lets me create light and shadow, texture and form. I used to think of them as just pencils but I’ve come to have a real appreciation for the subtleties of the softness and hardness of graphite, although I still use any pencil to hand to doodle and sketch. I mostly draw relatively small-scale.

I’m a dog-lover so I especially like to draw dogs. But I also draw cats, close-ups of eyes, lips and hands, and especially textures. I do occasional commissions of dog drawings, primarily by word-of-mouth referrals.

It’s important to me to show my work and I was fortunate to be short-listed for the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition in 2013 and also exhibited at the Broadway Arts Festival in 2014.
