Earley Painters are untutored sessions hosted by Clare Buchta and Carole Stephens who provide a still-life display to work from. All abilities, newcomers, and non-members are welcome. For further details please contact us.

Spring 2024 Programme

16th JanuaryNegative spaces
Working from a still life of bold shapes. Using a base of colour and pattern ,carve out the negative shapes with white paint  to reveal the objects  in colourful forms. Bring usual paints/materials and heavy paper, paints brushes and white acrylic or gouache. Some will be available.
30th JanuaryVintage toys
A display of vintage toys which can be interpreted in any suitable medium.
13th FebruaryFabulous Footwear
A display of practical and impractical footwear, beautiful and characterful. Can be interpreted in any suitable medium.
27th FebruaryClothed Model
The model will be dressed in some interesting costumes, colour is the key!
12th MarchFloral Display – Shirley Trevena
Taking inspiration from this well known artist to interpret a display of Spring flowers. Watercolour gouache or acrylic will be most suitable.
26th MarchThe Grocers Shop
Display of a traditional grocers shop. Any medium suitable.
9th AprilOn the Windowsill
Looking at a scene inside and out, reference Dufy, Mary Fedden
23rd AprilTea for two ….or more !
Elegant tea service and delightful cakes to draw and paint and then eat! Final session until September.
KEY INFORMATION

Where: Maiden Place Community Centre, Lower Earley, RG6 3EH

When: 1.30 pm – 4 pm.

£4 per session, cash please payable on the day, no booking required.

Parking is available on-site.

There is a code entry system at the hall. Please contact us for the code.

What to bring

Please bring your own materials: dry and water-based mediums may be used, such as watercolour, acrylic paints, pen and ink, pencil, and crayons, plus your own preferred supports and sketchbooks. We recommend you also bring along a plastic table covering or newspaper, cloths, or paper towel.
