After a lifetime working as a graphic designer, I finally gave in to the voice that always wanted to study fine art. I am now in the third year of a BA with the Open University, proving it’s never too late to follow your dreams. My research explores a sense of place and the idea of possible connections to DNA memory — how landscapes, objects, and environments can feel strangely familiar, when we can’t explain why. I work across a range of media, including collage and printmaking, enjoying the freedom to experiment, layer, cut up, and occasionally rescue things that were thrown away. I am especially drawn to still life, urban landscapes, and wildlife. Whether observing a quiet corner of a city, a collection of everyday objects, or an animal with attitude, my work is rooted in curiosity, storytelling, and a fascination with the traces people and places leave behind.
