I find the whole creative process endlessly fascinating and absorbing. I love painting, and whilst I relish the challenge of portraits and still-life, my passion is landscape painting. My main inspiration for landscape is the scenery of the North Cornish coast which I know very well. I believe that the landscape is more than just physical form, it is also the air and the light that gives it real life, a feeling I try to bring to my paintings. I love observing the sky and the clouds and am always trying to capture the drama and energy of what I see before me in my work. My best work seems to come when I am working energetically and quickly without over-thinking my choices of mark-making.
