I have been drawing buildings for decades and have recently unearthed sketchbooks from when I was 16 which are full of drawings of buildings. The fascination does not seem to be waning and clearly have a lifelong obsession with window panes and roof tiles. The architecture in the area is so varied – sometimes modern and ugly, sometimes old and ornate, and often all jumbled together. If you look up above the ground level facades to the upper storeys there are some absolute gems. I love the way all the architecture is so mixed up and find it continually inspiring. These drawings were made in 2020.
