Art has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. After school I gained a place in Belfast Art College but, unfortunately due to family circumstances, I was unable to accept the place. However, I have continued to draw and paint throughout college, raising a family and pursuing my career.

Over the years, although drawing had continued to be my medium of choice, I have explored other mediums – silk painting, oils and water colours.

Since retirement, I’ve been able to spend more time with drawing and painting.

I moved to Reading from Bristol shortly after I retired and immediately looked for art classes.

In these I find I learn new skills and mediums and to develop my own styles. It has been a joy. I love creating fine detail work and in the varied subjects I choose to draw or paint.

I’m always drawn to and admire hugely, photo realism, I am still working towards achieving this.

It has been a real honour to have been accepted as an exhibiting member of the RGA community.
