My multidisciplinary approach spans oil, acrylic, watercolour, mosaic, and digital mediums. All different in technique, colour and concept and I’ve included an image from each series, which you can view on my website: paola.art. My interests and projects span from participating in public art initiatives like The Elephant Parade and The Big Egg Hunt to curating the Google’s Art Project Presentation for the Zeitgeist Conference in 2012 and leading a large scale mosaic community project in the Institute of Education in London.

My oil paintings of Dancers explore the interplay of movement, colour, and light. When working in oil, I paint intuitively, using a palette knife to craft texture and complex colour combinations. My Undercurrents and Cityscapes series are characterised by precise geometry, creating an interconnected world of emotions. I like to play with the idea of colour vs monochrome and the different effect this has on the finished artwork.

With a background in multimedia, I now create digital portraits on commission.

In 2023, I was one of the first artists in residence at art’otel Battersea and I am currently preparing for my first Solo Exhibition outside of the UK, in my native Bulgaria, by invitation of the State Institute for Culture at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
