The Figure and Pattern

Tutor:

24th May 2023
Working from a clothed model we will explore shapes, patterns, and colour surrounding the model as well as the figure itself and the excitement of lost and found edges
In St. Peter’s Hall, we are not allowed to use charcoal or oil paints but Conte and charcoal pencils are good substitutes for the initial drawing, and pastels or water-based paints can then be used.
What to bring:
- Paper A2 or larger
- Board to work on
- Easel if you have one
- Pencils – pastel or conte
- Soft pastels or water-based paint brushes water etc.
It would be a good idea to bring a sheet or something similar to put under the area you are working.
A cheap paper tablecloth from any supermarket does the job well (£2 approx.) and can be folded up and used again.
