Meeting point: The Maiwand Lion sculpture in Forbury Gardens
We have been invited to come along and paint at this annual celebration of Reading Abbey’s rich 900-year history and its environmental and heritage connections with Reading’s waterways. Water Fest is Reading’s way of celebrating and showing off the Kennet Canal in all its glory. Find a spot to paint or sketch in Chestnut Walk, Forbury Gardens or the Abbey ruins. There will also be some beautifully painted boats on the canal, which should make for great subject matter.
We will be meeting at The Maiwand Lion sculpture in Forbury Gardens at 11 am for a quick briefing and again at the end of the day (the location for this will be given at the briefing) for a throwdown to share our work. There’s no need to book, just turn up with your paints/sketching materials.
Check out the other planned Summer Painting Days.
