I trained at Bristol Art College, where I qualified with a BA (Hons) in graphic design. At the end of the course, I moved back to Berkshire and for many years was employed as a book designer for a major publishing company. Having always devoted as much of my spare time as possible to painting and drawing, in 2007 I decided to become a full-time artist and began to exhibit my work. I have taken part in a number of successful exhibitions in and around the Reading area since then.
I work in most media, but am happiest when working in oils or watercolours. My inspiration comes from trying to capture the light – whether I’m standing in a stunning landscape or looking at a simple bowl of fruit. Apart from the Berkshire and Hampshire countryside, my favourite places to visit when armed with a sketch book and camera are Matlock in Derbyshire and West Wittering in Sussex. Both seem to offer a never-ending supply of beautiful views begging to be captured on canvas.
