Sri Nambiar works primarily in charcoal and oil paint. She is self-taught (albeit attending a few local workshops) and uses her studio space at home to create her charcoal works. She also attends weekly life drawing and portrait sessions locally to work from life. 

She loves to work with charcoal to create dramatic skyscapes and landscapes. She uses a sculpting method to carve the scene into the paper; working tonally and then building up the drawing with intuitive marks without getting caught up in the details which would restrict the freedom to experiment.

She also has a keen interest in portraiture and expressive figure drawings and uses her weekly sessions to create paintings and drawings from life.
