Picture of the Month for December 2025 is Daisy Dreams by Julie Gardner. It was chosen from the Members Gallery by Shelagh Casebourne.

I recently saw this linoprint being exhibited at an RGA exhibition, and was struck by the scale and impact of the image. The combination of the foreshortened perspective seated figure (eyes closed), with the feet front and centre, and the muted colours, reminiscent of a Japanese print, is particularly appealing. The black line and the patterned fabric, the striped socks and the echoing lines in the chair leg and the girl’s hair, all combine to create a balanced and intriguing subject
