Picture of the Month for January 2026 is Cuckoo’s Egg by Jayne Kozlow. It was chosen from the Members Gallery by Julie Gardner.

I’m really interested in how Jayne makes her animal prints using Tetra Pak and her printing press. The method is much more uncertain than my favourite (lino printing) but I love the textures and marks she manages to achieve. I also love the characters Jayne depicts – this one looks defiant, almost caught mid-gesture, with one foot raised as if daring you to come closer to his nest and precious golden egg! Love the gold leaf egg, what a great idea!
