Picture of the Month for March 2026 is The Art Class by Belinda Fitzwilliams. It was chosen from the Members Gallery by Jane Somner.

I have long admired Belinda’s work, and particularly The Art Class.

I enjoy her use of colour, especially the ‘shards’ of blue,  and the way she works towards abstraction.

There is a real sense of people working away in the art class, which is reminiscent of many an RGA Friday!

I have several of Belinda’s paintings at home and, although I see them every day, they still excite me.
