Picture of the Month for May 2024 is Harris Garden Dusk 3 by Michael Garaway. It was chosen from the Members Gallery by Tom Cartmill.

Michael is an artist who has truly found his voice artistically, with a style very much his own. This subtle, sensitive contemporary take on a landscape is a thrill to look at. 

I like seeing evidence of the artist’s hand and process – within the clearly defined blocking lines and meticulous, painstaking application of pencil, he has found an exciting way to interpret a semi-urban, and perhaps often over-looked, view. 

Being a frequent walker in the University, this is a view I know well and enjoy the fact that Michael’s picture has enriched my experience of it.
