Picture of the Month for May 2025 is Park Life 1 – Christchurch Meadows by Michael Norcross. It was chosen from the Members Gallery by Cath Baldwin.

I am always drawn to pictures that pull you in and make you reconsider what you are seeing. This picture by Michael Norcross does that for me, the trees in silhouette loom in the distance while their shadows tumble into the foreground of the painting and emphasise the tussocks of grass and subtle curves of the ground. I can feel the chill of those shadows but know that once I walk on, I will soon be in the wintery warmth of the sun once more.
