Picture of the Month for July 2023 is Channels of communication by Helen Lunn. It was chosen from the Members Gallery by Kate Ellison-Bourne.

In Channels of Communication, Helen Lunn illustrates the buzz and intimacy of communication; the way it flows and its vibrancy. The use of layering and patterns in the watercolour and ink bring out this vibrancy. To me, the communication is organic in its shape and colours suggesting the hum of bees and insects and the sounds of music in nature. It is a philosophical artwork which engages the observer at various levels, intellectually and philosophically as well as through the senses of sight and sound.
